Denver Public Schools - E911 and 5 Digit Dialing Project
Executive Summary
In order to comply with new Enhanced 911 (E-911) regulations we will be implementing new DID (Direct Inbound Dialing) numbers at your school. In addition, your current 4-digit dialing plan across the DPS network will be changed to 5 digits. This implementation will also provide outbound calling information to the 911 Dispatch Center so that the dispatch operator can call back to the originating phone.
These changes will occur after school hours and will have a short 'out of service' period for both the phone systems and the voice mail.The new Nortel CallPilot Voice Mail system will require you to dial a new phone number to retrieve your messages and set up a new mailbox. You will need to remove all of your messages on the current mail system the evening prior to your cutover date.
