The Denver Public Schools Teacher Technology Committee has created a list of vital technology skills for DPS Teachers. The list was created to ensure that teachers achieve the technology standards necessary to provide their students with the necessary technology skills set forth in the DPS Standards for Success.

Target Skills

Setup, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting

Target Skills

  • Setup, troubleshoot, install, and maintain computer operating systems for classrooms and laboratories

Achieving Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to perform preventative maintenance using virus protection software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems with utility software (Norton Utilities)
  • Describe and implement basic troubleshooting techniques for multimedia computer systems with related peripheral devices
  • Identify strategies for troubleshooting and maintaining various hardware/software configurations
